It was a beautiful evening for a walk, so Doug and I were out walking with the dog(Kudah) and we took our usual route. There was another couple out walking with their dog. Kudah got excited when he saw the other dog and of course he wanted to meet and be friends with every dog but the other dog was wearing a muzzle. We didn’t let Kudah near the other dog just for safety sake.
We were on our way back home when this man standing on his balcony across the street said can I come down and see your dog? We said, it is okay. The man came down and started petting the dog and then he says I noticed when you walked by your dog was panting and noticed your dog was pulling. My husband tells the man (no name from North Carolina) that the dog only pulls when the wife is with us.
So then he tells us that he has a neurotic dog and he uses a pinch collar and he claims it is the best thing on the planet. I had a few choice thoughts running through my brain and of course I couldn’t expel my thoughts without being extremely rude. So we told the man, look he’s twelve and owns the side-walk. So, he goes on and on about how we should use a pinch collar or a holt would best benefit my dog. I said, if you think your dog needs a pinch collar, good for you but my dog doesn’t need such a device.
Well I told him he’s been through training and he’s worn a holt in the past and Kudah didn’t care for it and neither did we. First of all, when did this guy become the expert on my dog. We left and went about our walk towards home. We came home with peeved looks on our faces, nothing like having your walk ruined by someone who thinks they are an expert in the dog world.
